Ordered takeout on Lunar New Year's day. Lunch specials: The Shrimp Pad Thai was good, generous portion. My son had Chicken with Broccoli but didn't have the brown sauce which he prefers. With few pcs of edamame, a dumpling, spring roll and a choice of fried rice or fried noodles - picked noodles which reminded me of filipino Pancit canton. A few of the dishes actually made me think of filipino dishes. Like the Pork Curry and Fried Beef with Spicy (we got non-spicy) which was dry like "tapa", maybe will try with some spice next time. We picked these for the Family Curry Meal (available Mon-Fri) - comes with rice, and choice of edamame or 4 spring rolls. Also the Nga-Ku Sin Kaw fish curry which had 5 small filets, a tasty dish. ------ My son's friend recommended Asian Bowl and learned it served Burmese cuisine (my first taste was at the Queens Center Mall.) Looking at the menu, noticed chinese dishes so focused on the Burmese options. Some dishes had detailed descriptions, but others didn't so was googling :) Mohinga soup was recommended and we really liked it. The fish soup was served separately- had a split-pea soup consistency but not thick. Came with a plate of noodles, fried garlic, crispy split chickpeas (like a thin cracker), and other toppings. Then we assembled our bowls. Can be asked to be non-spicy. Latphat Thoke is a delicious mix of ingredients, with a lot of crunchy textures. Raw garlic too which when mixed in wasn't very noticeable. We asked for mild spiciness - the sliced green chilies were put on the side. The restaurant is dimly-lit, cozy, with I think 5-6 tables for at least 2-4 people each. Located slightly off of Queens Boulevard (by the Federoff triangle), with 67th ave subway and Q60 bus stops nearby. Learned from the owner that they took over in 2019. He was nice enough to answer our questions about the food, and got us interested to try more which we will definitely do.

Two friends recently told us about this place and we finally tried it. It has a non descriptive sign in front so we have not noticed it much before. We have been back 4 times this month. Each time we try something new and each time we are pleased. Curry beef and shrimp- great. Veggie curry- great. Flavorful. Veggie chow fun- delicious and full of veggies. Mohinga fish soup- delicious and so so flavorful. The food is seasoned so well- they take great care w the ingredients and the appearance of the dishes, they are prepared and packed well as take out dishes. The owner is and patient and passionate about explaining the ingredients.

Was recommended this place by a friend. Tried their fermented tea leaves salad and a thote sone. Both are spicy. But thr noodles were the spiciest of the two. Just enough kick. It paired well with the salad.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 8 Decor: 6 Value: 7 Overall: 7 I came here a couple times now and focus on mainly the Burmese cuisine. The owners are really friendly and kind. I really like the Laphet Thoke (Tea Leaf Salad) and Mohinga (Fish Soup w/ Rice Noodle). Though I don't think they are as good as Burmese Bites, it's definitely easier access for me. Their other dishes like Pork Neck w/ Papaya Salad, Pork Curry, and A Kyaw Sone (Fried Vegetables) are all quite good. Beef curry and Nan Gyi Thoke (Chicken Curry Noodle) are just okay. It's nothing fancy, but if I am in the mood for something different in my neighborhood, this place will do.

My favorite Burmese restaurant in New York. My girlfriend's fam is from Burma and she also agrees. The Mohinga and Ohn No Khauk Swe is delicious. My favorite is their noodle salads. And the tempura vegetables are excellent-the sauce it comes with is so good. Definitely worth the trek!

Got Asian Bowl delivered, after deciding that I didn't want what we were making for dinner. I got the General Tso's Vegetarian Chicken, and honestly, I loved it. I've been looking all over Queens for some good General Tso's tofu/vegetarian substitute and Asian bowl hit the spot. I took my leftovers the next day and mixed it with the rice it came with. Honestly it's a hit, and will definitely order again, soon!

Having recently moved into the Forest Hills/Rego Park area, I was determined to find a few solid Asian options in my area and I think I may have to add Asian Bowl to the list. It's even harder to find specifically a Burmese restaurant at that! Don't let the generic name and Chinese food options fool you! The Burmese specialties are the most-eats here. So far I have only tried the NY Times recommended Thokes (Burmese salads) & the Sechat Khauk Swai (Burmese stirred fried noodles w/Chicken) and I was most impressed. It is truly a hidden local gem in this part of Queens!

Delicious Burmese food! There aren't a lot of options in the city , usually can only get traditional Burmese at family events when my aunt cooks. This place has really great flavors , my all time favorite is the tea leaf salad and the coconut chicken noodle soup. The mohinga (fish noodle soup) is very good too. Reasonably priced and notice a lot of Burmese customers when I dined so that's a great sign!

Having ordered food to go numerous times, I have so many positive thoughts to share about this place! This spot has been around for years as a restaurant serving both Chinese American style take out AND Burmese cuisine. In my book this place is highly underrated for their Burmese food. First of all there are surprisingly very few Burmese restaurants in NYC period. Decades ago there was one sit down restaurant in upper east side which later closed and even today there are maybe 8-10 places across all 5 boroughs. That being said I'm glad this place is around! Asian Bowl serves a focused assortment of curries, noodles, noodle soups and rice dishes. Their curries pack southeast Asian heat so be prepared. This is not mild by most American standards, rather the kind that gives you a thin layer of sweat on your forehead. Totally hits the spot when you're craving a mouthwatering bite of spiciness. They stay authentic to the sour/tart flavors by providing a lime or lemon slice to squeeze on some of the dishes too. My personal favorites are the - latphat thoke (tea leaf salad) $12.99: this is a combination of chopped fermented tea leaves, cabbage, peanuts, tomatoes, fried garlic, sesame, served with slices of raw garlic slices and chopped green chilis on the side. It's a little crunchy and a terrific accompaniment for white rice. - kwa oh sechat (noodle soup with chicken or pork, mustard leaves and tofu) $13.99: I usually opt for rice noodles. This is a lighter broth with plenty of protein. It comes with a quail egg which is a nice touch. - mohinga (Burmese fish noodle soup) $10.99: this hearty rice noodle soup is a bit heavier in flavor with ginger and lemongrass, and comes with hard boiled egg and some crispy crunchy fried bits to add on top. - Burmese maifun $13.99: stir-fried rice noodles with veggies and choice of meat or tofu, simple and tasty. - curry combo box $13.99: basically a curry meal for one--choose two curry items and comes with rice a side of mixed vegetable curry. I've never eaten in but can say the owner is friendly and always greets with a smile. The restaurant is pretty small, maybe seating 15-18 people at most. Also much respect for keeping the prices affordable!
